Fun With First Responders
EXPERIENCE a simulated traffic stop - EXPLORE different types of emergency vehicles - TALK to first responders - DRIVE go-carts - PLAY games
*Sensory Friendly Event*
EXPERIENCE what it feels like to be pulled over by a police officer. The officer will walk you through exactly what you need to do if and when this happens. This will help decrease anxiety and fear in young drivers and in drivers with special needs. This activity will also give officers experience in different behaviors that drivers with special needs may display so that they can continue keeping the public safe.
EXPLORE an ambulance, a SWAT armored vehicle, a police car, a fire truck and more.
TALK with first responders that work for the Huntsville Police Department, HEMSI, Madison County Sheriff's Department, Madison Fire and Rescue, Madison City Police Department and more. The first responders and the community will work on building bonds with one another so we can always have an open line of communication. Our first responders risk their lives every single day to keep all of us safe. We want to make sure we show them our appreciation and respect for the amazing job they do.
DRIVE go-carts that the Huntsville Police Department uses to teach adolescents how to drive.
PLAY games that are fun and educational.
