Visiting Panama City Beach with mobility issues by Aaron Tanner
Winter is winding down. Before one knows it, the warmer months of spring and summer will allow more people to get outside and travel.
Located in the Florida Panhandle, Panama City Beach is a top-rated tourist destination for families in the Tennessee Valley. Many residents flock there during spring break and summer for some relaxation.
Visiting the beach can be a challenge for people dealing with mobility issues. After reading the latest visitor's guide, it turns out Panama City Beach is very accessible for those who need extra help moving around the white sugary sands next to the crystal clear water of the coastline. Several popular Panama City Beach attractions and businesses, such as the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort, St. Andrews State Park, Pineapple Willy's, and Pier Park, are wheelchair accessible. In addition, a quick Google search shows that there are several wheelchair-accessible rental companies available at Panama City Beach that are specifically designed to move around the compact sand on the beach.
Cory Lee is a popular travel blogger who, despite being a wheelchair user, can visit many different travel sites across the United States and Panama City Beach, including Panama City Beach. His work has been highlighted in various media sites such as CBS News, USA Today, and the Travel Channel. To read his experience vacationing in Panama City Beach, click here.
For those with younger people in the family on the Autism spectrum, Panama City Beach has an excellent program called Autism Surfs that introduces those with the condition to water sports as a therapy tool every spring and summer. To read the blog post I wrote about Autism Surfs, click here.
Traveling can be a challenge for those with a disability. However, with a bit of research, one does not have to be confined to one's home but instead can enjoy a fabulous time making memories with loved ones that will last a lifetime.
